The apex! Well maybe day four is a little early to be calling an apex, but it is a well and true battle just to make it here. I do have to say that planning day four to be a complete day off for yourself is pretty genius.

I really didn’t struggle at all today. I did sleep too much and eat too much, but I also went and swam laps at the pool becasue I am thinking about taking a life-guarding course as well as played squash for almost two hours, so I needed the the energy reboot pretty badly.

I started reading my Herman Hesse book, which is call Ludi Magister, and won the Nobel Prize. I think that the last time I did the fast I read The Alchemist on my first Sunday of and was left in some perfect surreal haze by the end of the day.

Ludi Magister hasn’t been as good so far, but I have a really good feeling about it. I recently read the book Siddhartha by Hesse and it was almost as good as the Alchemist (these are all fictional books about the meaning of life, so they may not be as epic to you if you are not into that kind of thing), and I think that this book is really on to quite a few secrets, but it is also written way more cryptically so it that is why it is more difficult.

Anyway, I really enjoyed swimming although it is going to be a tremendous challenge to do a course (I did 1 and a half laps before nearly drowning and I need to do 10 for the test), I always love squash, and the book reading and napping were perfect.

I did have some severe sugar cravings, but since I was on a day off I just let myself nap instead of fighting them to hard.

Once again I would like to reccomend to people to take a guilt free day off every week. It is something to get excited about during the week and your body needs the recharge. It will be great to start out Monday with the mood I have developed today.

The last thing, is that I have decided to call the day after day four, phase 2 of the fast. This is the time that I am going to start cutting back how much I eat. I ate way too much today (all good wholesome foods still). This means that phase two is still not going to be overly fun, but I am also upping my expectations of what I get done.
