My need to take naps has been intense during the last two weeks. I thought it was over after my stretch of going to the library, but today I went down hard for a good two hours.
The thing that makes this weird is that I have had about the same amount of useful naps in my entire life, as I’ve had in the last two weeks. I normally cannot fall asleep fast enough to make a nap worth it.
I am curious if this is another symptom of low dopamine? Most of the research I’ve done has indicated that fatigue could be an issue so I think it would make sense.
Still, it is so totally unlike me to be able to fall asleep in five minutes. I have probably done it five or six times in the last 10 days.
It could be the remains of that flu I had two weeks ago. My dad got it last week and he has the same symptoms, and everyone says it lasts a long time.
It could also be my new level of productivity, or from the amount of exercise I’ve been doing.
The good thing is that I am also still doing very well at falling asleep right away when I go to bed. This is also a major problem for me, so it has been a total blessing.
That being said, I don’t want to need to take naps all the time!
I am guessing that it is a combination of stress and all the new life changes. All in all I do like how my sleeps are feeling really healthy! A good Sunday off should do me some good.
Hopefully the need to nap will start to subside as I get into the second half of this challenge!
